Gabrielle Aplin – The Power of Love

Actually it was released last year. This song ever topped the UK Singles Chart and I love this song. This song is simple but so powerful.

Recently her songs “Panic Cord” and “Please Don’t Say You Love Me” got into UK Singles Chart Top-40 and her album “English Rain” entered the chart on #2. Because of that I started to search her songs and listen. She can be compared to Emeli Sande which songs I like too.

The power of love
A force from above
Cleaning my soul
Flame on burn desire
Love with tongues of fire
Purge the soul
Make love your goal

My top 150 most-played songs of 2012

At the end of 2012, I have listened to BBC Radio 1’s “UK’s Top-Selling 150 Singles Chart” and came up with compiling my own list of most-played songs in my Winamp. This list of course is biased toward Coldplay songs, but of course it contained many great songs of 2012 like Caliban’s Dream, the song that is played on background when the Olympic Flame was being lit; Gary Barlow’s Sing; Muse’s Madness; and Cobalah Mengerti. Anyway, I present my top 150 most-played songs of 2012:

  1. Coldplay – Paradise (4:37)
  2. Underworld Feat. Alex Trimble, Dame Evelyn Glennie, Dockhead Choir, Elizabeth Roberts & Only Men Aloud – Caliban’s Dream (7:15)
  3.  Coldplay – Don’t Let It Break Your Heart (3:53)
  4. Coldplay – A Hopeful Transmission (0:33)
  5. Coldplay – Up with the Birds (3:47)
  6. Coldplay – Fix you (4:55)
  7. Coldplay – ‘Til Kingdom Come [Hidden Track] (4:12)
  8. Coldplay – Up in Flames (3:13)
  9. Coldplay – Major Minus (3:30)
  10. Coldplay – Mylo Xyloto (0:43) …

Gary Barlow & The Commonwealth Band – Sing (featuring Military Wives)

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ah_Yf7ey1Q]

This is the music video of a song titled “Sing“, by Gary Barlow & The Commonwealth Band featuring Military Wives, a choir consisting of wives (and girlfriends) of British Military personnel. This song is written for the celebration of Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II. This song peaked at #1 on UK’s Official Singles Chart on its second week at chart. This song features Gary Barlow on piano, Military Wives on vocal, and the others. There are so many singers and music instruments involved. It is a very amazing song.

Sing it louder, sing it clearer, knowing everyone will hear you,
Make some noise, find your voice tonight.
Sing it stronger, sing together, make this moment last forever,
Old and young shouting love tonight.
