Singapore (day 1)

6 July 2012

I woke up at 4.30 am by using alarm of my phone. The night before, I had 3 alarms at 5-minute interval. The first alarm made me turned on the cellphone, the second one woke me up, and the third one was ignored.

I cleaned myself till 5 am, then had some rest. For breakfast, I had some bread, an boiled egg, and a glass of milk.

It was 6 am, everyone was ready. My neighbour’s chauffeur was hired for a moment to drive us to the airport. Around 6.20 am we’ve checked in to the airport; and when 6.30am, we waited until they called us to board the airplane. Around 7am, they called us in.

I managed to take 1 photo of the airport using my phone then I turned off my phone.

The flight was okay, I’ve been to the lavatory once, which I waited for quite long time before I can use it. I’ve been trying to sleep in that flight, but can’t as the noise is too loud.

At last around 10 am we arrived in Changi Airport, this time at Budget Terminal; a simple terminal, but beautiful in design. We completed the immigration, waited until 11am then ride the shuttle bus to Marina Bay Sands Hotel.

In this hotel, the interior view was very luxurious. There were 3 towers of hotel. We got room 3255: at 32nd floor of 2nd tower. We also got a free internet connection (wired and wifi; but it had a timer of 24 hours; I feared that after it, we had to pay for the internet connection). After we put things in the room, we got out to have lunch in food court of “The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands”. Well, the food there was quite expensive too! I ate Chicken Rice; cost SGD 7 or 8.

We walked around the mall before going back to the hotel. Before entering the hotel, we stopped at Bayfront MRT Station (CE1) to top up the cards.

In the hotel, we rested for a while. I set up my laptop to the wired internet connection. First I checked the speed using speedtest.net, wow, the speed for downlink and uplink was around 5Mbps! For that reason, I uploaded all photos of that day to Facebook.

Until around 5 pm, we walked around in the 57th floor, the Sky Park. Then we went out to Suntec City, by taking bus, it was just a short journey. There my dad wanted to find a place to buy a Singaporean SIM card. At last we found it, but when they asked for passport, we forgot to bring it. After that we ate at the food court, here the price was much cheaper than that of Marina Bay Sands’s. I ate a kind of noodle called “ban mian”, consisting of large portion of thick flat colourless noodle with some vegetables, some pork, and an boiled egg. Then we went to Carrefour to buy some fruits before went back to hotel using MRT.

In the hotel, we cleaned ourselves then have rest; I uploaded the rest of today photos.

End of June 2012

30 June 2012

This day was the last day of June 2012, the first half of 2012 will have been passed. That morning, I played Red Alert 2: Yuri’s Revenge after cleaned myself. That afternoon, Golfin came. He copied The Legend of Korra; and played games (Frozen Bubble and then Pro Evolution Soccer). We played Spain – Italy (2-1; me using Spain); England – Netherlands (0-4; me using England); and Manchester City – Bolton Wanderers (HT:0-4; FT: 6-4; a.e.t.; us using Manchester City for the first half). Around 4, I went to swimming. The night, I just did some usual activities: Facebook, Twitter, Wikipedia, etc; plus designing some random sites, just for pleasure.

Gary Barlow & The Commonwealth Band – Sing (featuring Military Wives)

This is the music video of a song titled “Sing“, by Gary Barlow & The Commonwealth Band featuring Military Wives, a choir consisting of wives (and girlfriends) of British Military personnel. This song is written for the celebration of Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II. This song peaked at #1 on UK’s Official Singles Chart on its second week at chart. This song features Gary Barlow on piano, Military Wives on vocal, and the others. There are so many singers and music instruments involved. It is a very amazing song.

Sing it louder, sing it clearer, knowing everyone will hear you,
Make some noise, find your voice tonight.
Sing it stronger, sing together, make this moment last forever,
Old and young shouting love tonight.

Ariel, Uki, Lukman, Reza, David Feat.Momo Geisha – Cobalah Mengerti

A song from the album “Suara Lainnya” by “Ariel, Uki, Lukman, Reza, David” featuring Momo Geisha. It is a nice song featuring Momo Geisha vocal and David’s piano. “Cobalah Mengerti” is a song from the album “Hari Yang Cerah” by Peterpan. Peterpan since that album consists of Ariel, Uki, Lukman, Reza, David. They didn’t release the album by using the name “Peterpan” because they have already planned to change the band name once Ariel, who is currently under arrest, freed.

The story of Rainbow School

13 June 2012

This is the last day of me in Rainbow School, an English course in Jl. HOS Cokroaminoto. I’ve been in that course since I am still 5 (TK B; 2nd year of Kindergarten). Since then, I’ve met many friends, taught by many teachers, and been in many classroom.

I’ve joined many level (in ascending order): “Dragon Rabbit”, “Koala”, (forget the order: “Smurf”, “Unicorn”, and one more) “Ninja Turtle”, “Super Ninja”, “New Interchange-1”, “New Interchange-2”, “New Interchange-3”, “Passage-1”, and finally “Passage-2”.

The only friend who started in the same year like me is Jennifer Tandratama. She and I have been in the same class since then until today. (except last year’s class: she quit for a year because he business in her new school before returning back).

I’ve been taught by many teachers: teacher Susi(I’ve forget which level), teacher Eddy (I’ve forget which level), teacher Jemmy (Super Ninja), teacher Jonto (NI-1 and NI-3), teacher Andrie (NI-2), teacher Dewi H. (P-1), teacher Veni (P-2), (with Mr. Herbert, whose main job is as a lawyer) and the others who I forget their names.

Today, our class performed “We are Young“, “Count on Me“, and “What Makes You Beautiful“. The preparation was very minimal. It was just on Monday that we were told to have performed today. That day, I had never listened to Count on Me before. Today, the performance started at 8. We rehearsed it together for the first and the last time until the very end of the time limit. Well, the performance gone well, with all the evening-class students and their teachers watching, but I’ve noticed a slight error in our singing What Makes You Beautiful. After the performance, our certificates are given by our teacher. It was not 9 yet, we have photos until it was 9. When it was 9, our teacher distributed our report book, with me having the 1st rank and she also gave me a gift: a pencil case with 4 colour pens inside: blue, green, red, and black. Thank you. This is our class member: me, Eddy, Jennifer T., Cindyana, Jessi, Tommy, Kevin J., Vera L., Zulianto C., Meta W. It was such a great year with you all. You all will be missed. :)

Our teacher this year, teacher Veni, was focused on doing activities such as debate, news reading, story telling, cooking demo, presentation, promotion, singing, etc. Our class was regularly split into groups. Sometimes the class was split into 2 group: boys and girls. Sometimes the class was split into 5 groups consisting of 2 people: mostly a couple. In a couple, I’ve ever teamed with Jennifer and Cindyana. Whenever I teamed with Jennifer, I thought that the project went not so well as it was some kind of imbalanced: she was so talkative while I’m not. But it went well with Cindyana, she was doing the parts when I’m stuck; and I continued it when she’s stuck. This project ever involved people outside the school. We have ever interviewed Western people in Emerald Garden Hotel.

Last Saturday, 9 June 2012, we thrown our graduation dinner in Nelayan Merak Jingga. There was 10 of us, plus teacher Veni, teacher Jonto, and our ex-classmate: Ryan Octosa. We took may photos there. I think that our time spent on taking photos are longer than that on eating. We ordered sweet-and-sour fish fillet, 2-flavour fried chicken, fried noodle, and hot-plate-and-sauced prawn.

Last Sunday, 10 June 2012, Rainbow had their grand opening on their new branch at Asia Mega Mas. We’ve been there since 9 am. We were told to do promotion about the school to the audience. We also have a stand for selling accessories. The boys and the girls take turn to do them. Around 1.30pm, I, Eddy, Jennifer, Vera, and Ms. Dewi joined the tarot-card fortune-telling. The fortune-teller told each of us about our love. He told me that now I’m “standing, watching, and waiting for something”. The positive character of me is “When I strike, I strike right into the point” (when I say, I’ll say it just to the point). The negative one is I am like “a moon-sun which didn’t listen to any friends” (can be happy and sad at a time without caring the surroundings). After this fortune-telling stuff, we watched our friend Tommy, also with my sister Sophie, and the others, performing on the stage the song “Price Tag”. The other friends whom we told that we have joined the fortune-telling interested in doing the same. The went upstairs to queue for this fortune-telling. We also went to the rooftop of the building. It was a 4-storey building. On the rooftop, we could see the mountains. There, the wind blown very strong. The grand opening stuff ended on 4 pm. I was very tired. They still went to Matador Country to have some more fun; I was told that they were there until 8 pm.

12 June 2012

12 June 2012
My day started on 8.30 am. I remembered that Satyananda, a long-time friend of mine, will pay a visit to my home at 10. I rushed to clean myself and have breakfast. It was still 9. I lay down for a while.
At 9.45, I had my bath. Got nothing to do. I started to defragment my laptop’s hard-disk. Also, I started to go online. I started it with doing a favour from Asep, a Wikipedia-and-Wikibooks user, on Indonesian Wikibooks. 10.30, Satya called me that he will start coming to my home. Around 11, he arrived here. I played Airline Manager first; chit-chat for a while; also copying my files to his externad HDD; and then started to play Winning Eleven on PS2. We started it with Netherlands 3-2 (me) England; then South Korea 1-2 (me) Australia; Manchester United 5-4 (me) Chelsea; finally Netherlands 3-3 (me) Spanish (PK: Ned won). Before NED v. ESP, I had lunch first.
After those things, he went home. I went to have a nap. In this nap, I had a very interesting dream. I dreamed that I am lying on my bed, with my eyes open, and I feel that I can move my body but I didn’t want to do it because I think it will cause me to be awake. Is this lucid dream? As I remembered, I have never experienced lucid dream before.
At 4, I had tuition on Johnson. I’m surprised that the students that followed intensive class on 2 was very many, including Leonard, Eddy, Stella, Selamat, and Jason. My friendship with Leonard now is not as well as that in January. I think he hasn’t forgave me on my words in the Whatsapp group last Sunday. I hope that our friendship didn’t broke.

Tired

9 June 2012

I was thinking of a holiday full of fun, no studies, no tuition. But they all gone wrong. The annual games in school called P2S1 that usually held on January or February is held on June. This week, I have gone to school almost everyday in the morning to join that games. On Monday, there was Programming Contest; on Thursday, there was “cepat tepat”; on Saturday, there was Graphic Design Contest. On 5-6 June, I also join National Science Olympiad at Province level (OSP) at Berastagi. There was also 2 TWoS held in this week. One on Monday, one on Friday. Tomorrow, my English tuition will held a grand opening at their new branch, and my class are tasked to market their course. What a tiring week.

This week, I have not gone to Johnson tuition at all. That was because: on Monday, I’m too tired after the programming contest in the P2S1; on Tuesday, I have gone to Berastagi to join OSP; on Wednesday, I have not returned yet from OSP; on Thursday, I must go to English tuition to discuss the things on Sunday; on Friday, the teacher couldn’t come; on Saturday, I didn’t have class. Hence, this is the first time (excluding holiday times; Johnson got very less holiday) I haven’t gone to Johnson tuition in a week.

I must go to my physics tuition in 20 times this semester and until the end of May, I just done it around 8 times. In this month, I must finish that tuition. My father yesterday asked me to join a TOEFL-preparation class which is held on 11-15 and 18-22 June. The normal tuition (maths, physics, also English) have not ended yet.

I have so many things to do in this June. I just want to rest. My plans are to rewatch Avatar: The Last Airbender; and replay Kingdom Hearts. But I think they all have to wait until next year. :'( I need some  rest. Yes, I need some rest.

Update: At night, my father told me that when he register me, the TOEFL-preparation class is full and I can’t join the class.
